I saw this pattern so much on social media that I just had to knit it. I think the thing that made me go out and buy the yarn for this project was seeing that my local yarn shop had knit a sample, so I was able to get a vibe check on this hood before buying the materials and pattern. I'll admit, it was a bit of a slog to get through though. I think part of the issue was that I used wooden needles for this project and that was really rough with this yarn.
The yarn isn't done justice in these photos, as the light often blows out the colors. On bsky I compared the colors to an emo version of The Rainbow Fish hehe.
Unfortunately I had to frog this project part of the way through. I dropped some stitches and after struggling to try and fix them, the i-cord edge got completely messed up and I couldn't fix it, so I had to start from scratch.
After frogging, as can be seen above, I used stitch markers to more easily count the rows between the increases and later decreases, since previously I was struggling to keep track of how many rows there were before.
I'm a bit sad that I finished this a bit too late in the season to be able to wear it, hopefully next winter I can get some use out of it!
