Hat for Officiant

This was among one of four hats I made for my bridal party and officiant for our wedding! The officiant is one of my friends - technically she is ordained through the Universal Life Church, but we got a self-uniting license anyway because I don't think PA recognizes that form of officiation? She did a really good job, my grandfather said so anyway!

Prior to making a hat, I asked in a somewhat obvious - but not totally revealing - way what color hat everyone wanted. The officiant wanted a blue or red hat, and since I happened to have this dark red yarn on hand, I used it. At first I was thinking of doing a cable knit pattern, but that went completely sideways after the math stopped working. I went for a simpler pattern instead that would be easier to work through the wedding planning stress, sometimes simpler is better! Here's the hat before blocking:
